Description
Our own top-quality leather quiver is ideal for placing your bow in a safe and accessible position during performances. It is made from nicely stiff, heavy gauge black leather that holds its shape and makes bow insertion and removal easy, unlike the floppy cheapies. The quiver is about 17.5 inches tall, with a pair of 28" long leather ties (one about 2.25 inches from the bottom, and one about 4.25 inches from the top.)
It's important to have a well-constructed quiver that will make quick draws possible, as well as a fast, safe return. Two important features make our quiver stand out from many others, in this regard:
- The leather is stiff - the opening, and the length of the "pocket," will both keep their shape. The mouth of the quiver will always stay wide, ready to receive the bow - and the length of the quiver will not collapse or fold on itself.
- The interior is lined - meaning that the inside is also smooth leather, not rough suede - so it's smooth and snag-free.
Extra-long matched leather ties let you secure it to your tailpiece at the top and bottom (you can trim them as needed). The specially reinforced upper tie point means this very nice bow quiver will stand up to years of dependable use.
We include our own tip sheet on Bows, Rosin and Quivers with every quiver order, so you get instructions for care and use with your purchase, no charge.
What if you want to put a quiver on your Electric Upright Bass!?! (EUB) As you can see from the photo, quivers are generally tied to the bass tailpiece, but if your EUB doesn't have a full size one, what do you do? Both my Dad's Eminence and my NS Design EUB lack a "conventional" tailpiece, so I tie my quiver to each of the bass stands. We also carry alternative options for quick bow retrieval, including a couple different "hook" options - perhaps you'll find one of those to be a good choice.

So glad I got this!
Been debating on getting a quiver for years. As a jazz bassist, I like having easy access to the bow, but I've always been afraid of it affecting the sound through weight on the tailpiece or muffling the sound coming from the bass. However I've had no such problems with this quiver, and the practicality of having it has been immensely useful. Haven't had it long so I can't speak to durability yet.

Excellent quiver
I bought this in brown, a color that seems to have been discontinued. Never mind the color; this is a fine bow quiver. It is well constructed out of heavy leather and keeps it open shape while attached to the bass. I have mine tied on so that the upper straps go through the string hole on the G-string side of the tailpiece, are then wrapped around the whole tailpiece a couple of times in opposite directions and are the tied off on the G-string side. The lower straps go around the narrowest part of the tailpiece wood, are wrapped a couple times around, and are then likewise tied off on the side. It took me awhile to get it tight enough not to flop; but once I did, it has stayed in place perfectly without needing adjustment.

Damn fine
Tons better than my last one. Smooth inside. The only flaw is the basic design of any quiver in that they close at the end and catch a tiny bit. But it's a gerat product and I received it quickly. Thanks!
