Description
Bluegrassers rejoice!
When you're playing at a jam and have only moments to set up, simplicity is key. When you need that little boost to be heard over all the other instruments, the longtime common trick has been to put a handheld mic in a sock and drop it behind the tailpiece. But that's boomy and it can sometimes cause unwanted vibrations. (Plus, exactly where has that sock been? Ewww.)
With this handcrafted clamp, made in the USA, you have a simple, non-permanent, non-marking holder that you can simply drop a mic into for quick, simple, and secure mic-ing of your double bass. It clamps around (with hand-tightened bolts and padded surfaces) your tailpiece and can be put on and off the bass in under a minute. Or you can simply leave it on your bass, even in the bag, for ready-to-play functionality.
FEATURES:
Simple, innovative, effective, hand-made - just the sort of thing I love to use (and share!)
- The tapered hole assures you of a secure fit for the microphone.
- The foam lining protects the finish of your bass.
- There is no drilling or screwing required.
Installation:
- Place front half just below the strings.
- Locate back half and run studs through the front to the back.
- Place nuts on studs and finger tighten.
- Install microphone and connect to sound source.
- There is no #5, you're done. Go play and have a good time!
