Description
Ultra soft rosin for both solo work and orchestral play, and is made in France by a manufacturer . Designed to eliminate messy and annoying "dusting," it provides firm adhesion without being overly aggressive - the feel is smooth, not sticky - and the resulting tone is clear and warm. It is hypoallergenic, and does not contain metallic residues that can damage a fine varnish finish.
Jade solo rosin is generally suitable for all seasons and climates. The rosin is attached to a velvety cloth wrap to protect it, and comes in a hard plastic container to protect it. This item was added to our rosin lineup by customer request!
Rosin is key in getting a good bowed sound, so don't cheap out on this key ingredient to success, it can last a long time - and isn't very expensive. In fact, some bassists carry two or three different cakes just in case the environment makes another consistency better for that particular situation. When the humidity is high, the more powdery, harder rosin is usually best, and during very dry periods some stickier stuff may be needed.
Jade Solo Rosin is poured into a paper cup, and packaged in an airtight or semi-airtight plastic container, with each cake weighing approximately 40 grams (1.4 oz.)

Love pops, don’t love the melt.
I’ve used Pops for a long time and like many Pop’s users I struggle with keeping it from melting or otherwise degrading. I live in NY so I play through just about all weather. The Jade is just about as “grippy” as Pop’s but feels less “sticky”. By this I mean that passing your hair over it feels more like a harder rosin, it doesn’t catch the bow like Pop’s will do, but on the string it grips like POP’s, though I think I put just a little more on than I would with Pop’s. I’m on about 6 months with my first block and it’s holding up great. Just ordered another because I was buying something else, but I feel like I’ll be covered for a while with this. The only drawback is I feel the need to re-apply a bit more often. I’m a convert.

Grabs really well; very impressed actually! The sound quality is not harsh or brash, and comes in a pop's-like container. Soft; sorta waxy but not an issue and not sticky - maybe somewhere around: Oak & Leatherwood 50% ...
