Laydown, or "cradle" type stands, are becoming more popular; they are sturdy and easy to use. Until now, they've been mostly portable designs, intended for use on gigs.

This gorgeous, handcrafted hardwood stand by Zither Music Company is instead made to be used as a more ornamental (yet still functional) option for your home, music studio, or long-standing gig (I can see this being a great option on the bandstand for a bassist who regularly plays in a praise band or church group.)

Designed by Tony Meeks (with input from Mark) and crafted - by hand - by Zither Music in Texas, USA. Each stand is made of fine woods and quality hardware. Its elegant, curved design is beautiful and strong, and holds your instrument confidently. For most players, it is not necessary to adjust the endpin to put it in the stand - so just finish playing, put down your instrument, and walk away. It's ready-to-go as soon as you need it again. In the meantime, it's safe in this sturdy stand.

Through a special arrangement with Tony, we'll be the exclusive seller of this stand. The stands will usually will be direct-shipped from their HQ. While Zither Music Company will usually endeavor to have a few available for immediate shipment, if demand is high, they may need to be made to order. We'll let you know if there is going to be any kind of (rare) delay in completing your order.

Note that each stand is individually hand-crafted of hand-picked pieces of quality hardwood, so each stand will have its own unique appearance; the photos here should be a good representation, but slight variations in grain structure and color may be present in your stand. But each stand is made with utmost care with quality construction and materials - and a hand-rubbed natural oil finish - so you can rest assured that your stand will be every bit as beautiful and well-crafted as the one(s) seen on this page!

Stand arrives partially disassembled for shipping purposes; easy instructions for 4-bolt assembly are included.
