Description
Get a kit which contains everything you need to mount your compact K&K, Schatten, LR Baggs, or other small beltpack preamp to your tailpiece - without any modifications to your valuable instrument! Having the preamp mounted to the bass makes setup a breeze - just plug and play! It also means that you have a volume control on your instrument - a big deal if you've ever had to lug the doghouse over to the amp to make adjustments.
Consisting of high-quality components, this kit includes complete, illustrated instructions and can be "installed" by most anyone - in less than 15 minutes. The included cables are top-shelf, made with high quality cable and connectors. Please be sure to get the correct kit for your application; see the diagram in the photo array to help you to determine which version you need. If you're using it with a 2-channel system like the Bass Master Pro, Bass Master Rockabilly Plus, or one of the Golden Trinity Mic sets, you need the STEREO/TRS version, which has the cable that allows for two separate channels to travel on a single cable - that model is here. If you get the wrong kit, your pickup and preamp setup may not work properly. Details of the mounting kits are below.
MONO (1 CHANNEL, SINGLE PICKUP) Mount Kit
Use the standard kit for single-channel systems; for instance, the pickup of your choice and a K&K Power Pack or Pure Preamp. If you're using a Dual Channel Pro (not "ST" version) preamp with two individual pickups, use the "DUAL MONO" version, below. This kit includes one high-quality Mono (single channel) cable, foam isolation materials, and hook-and-loop strap to mount the preamp.
WHY YOU MIGHT NEED TO ADD A SECOND CABLE:
If your setup has TWO pickups, and there are TWO SEPARATE INPUTS on your preamp (one for each pickup) you can add a second short cable so you have everything you need for both channels. For instance, if you use the Dual Channel Pro (not "ST" version) Preamp or similar; if you've created your own "Rockabilly" setup by combining the "clicky" pickup and the dual channel pro with a pickup you already have, this is the right way to go. You're basically getting the MONO KIT and adding an additional 12 inch cable for the second pickup.
