Replacement Rubber Pads (Arm Covers) for Ingles SA-22 Stand for Double Bass

The Ingles SA22 Stand was once a top-selling item here at Gollihur Music, but sometimes the padding on the arms would wear out due to heavy use. Some of the early models of the SA22 had a closed-cell foam rubber type of padding. For years people asked me about replacements for these worn out bits, and I directed them to visit a hardware store and try pipe insulation and other similar products - but I came upon a great option that is a perfect fit, and durable replacement, if your arm pads have worn out.

This replacement set is a major upgrade: they are made with far more durable, non-marking rubber which will probably outlast your stand. I'll concede that this kit might seem a bit pricey... But compared to foam rubber, which breaks down, this specially sourced tubing is so long-lasting, I believe that you can be confident that you'll never need to replace them again.

The tubing is made of Norprene®, which is manufactured in the USA, and is durable and strong, but non-marking -- in fact, this tubing is even safe for use in food operations! And it is easy to install -- the only tool you'll need is a pair of heavy-duty scissors or a utility knife. Just pull the old one off, slide the new one on, and put the cap on. Easy-peasy!

We provide you with a bit more than 2.5 feet, which is enough to cover both lower legs (the upper cradle is usually fine and doesn't need replacing -- and if it does, you can probably recycle an un-worn part of the old leg cover to cover the much smaller neck cradles.)

Note that these replacements may not seem to fit as snugly as the originals; this is because this tubing is more dense, more durable, and less "smushy" (that's a technical term.) So, any tighter of a fit would make it almost impossible to snake them around the curves and bends in the arms/cradles.

We include a pair of (newly sourced, better!) rubber caps for the ends, just in case you lose/damage your originals. These newer caps are longer/deeper and provide a more snug fit, so they're less likely to fall off and get lost, compared to the shorter ones we used to supply.
